# Homage to Syria

The images we are currently witnessing from Syria are confronting and tragic. Having visited Syria after a trip to Jordan several years ago, I am choosing to remind myself of  a land abounding in historical treasure, a vast range of topography, and hospitable people trying to lead normal lives – I hate to see it, or any other country and its people, torn apart. The images may not be brilliant but I hope some capture some of the fascination of Syrian culture. Peace.

The images, muddled as they may be, are from a journey from Damascus to Aleppo and include Palmyra and Hammas.

  1. Love these, the food, the people and the architecture. So important to document a way of life that is increasingly threatened with extinction.
